Ah, Tufts. I must have gotten this shirt in 2005, as I suffered through Bio 13 and fretted about getting into vet school.

I've had this one since HIGH SCHOOL!! Victoria's Secret T- used to have a red one too. Kind of misshapen... Maybe it's time to let go?

Greetings from my grad student cube! This is the same new Target undershirt as 2 days ago, just in a different color.

So, here is the brand new purple blouse. Another couple of bucks at the Target winter clearance... same with the scarf. I really felt good wearing this today.

January 25

So... major closet-clearing set-back! I went to Target last night, purportedly to go "grocery shopping," and came back with... deep breath... FIVE shirts!! I got 4 of these ($2.48 each), which I'm thinking could replace my many old torn/stained Filene's Basement undershirts (see Jan 2nd post). I also got a purple blouse. I'd describe it, but you'll see it soon enough.

I also got this, for $5. Ta-da!!

(Reminder-voting is on the shirt, not the crazy onesie.)

I got this shirt from an emergency vet hospital in Stockholm when I visited in 2005. It was a really weird shape, slightly improved when I cut out and enlarged the neck. Still, I mostly just wear this when I sleep.

Doesn't the dog look ridiculously happy, considering that it's an emergency hospital? That's kind of great.

January 23

Another T from Target. Kind of blah. I'm pointing to two small holes that Bjorn Borg clawed into my shirt when he recently climbed up my body. Freaky little cat.

This is a mens shirt I picked up last summer for $2, off the Urban Outfitters clearance rack in Santa Monica, CA. It's so soft, fits great, and the diagonal fabric grain is an interesting detail.

The top picture is probably more about my mood than my shirt...

Old Navy, cheapo boat neck. Love the color, but think the fabric looks flimsy and cheap.

Will got me this shirt last winter, as the Helly Hansen store on Grand Ave was going out of business. It's pretty slim in the fit (maybe more than it should be on me), but it's also nice and long.

No use blanquear!

January 19

Sorry. I swear I'll wear an interesting shirt tomorrow.

This is the same shirt I wore on Jan 1, just in a different color. Also, sorry about the picture quality. Will is in CA all week, and my arms aren't long enough. Maybe I can recruit another photographer.

January 18

This is a turquoise thermal from Old Navy that we meant to return. Time ran out, so I'm keeping it--first time wearing it today. Out $5, but I actually like it a lot more than I thought.

Ellen gave me this American Apparel (mens medium) tee. I think it was a leftover item from a charity gift drive a few years ago. Meh?

A t-shirt from the fine boutique 'Rugged Wearhouse' in my very own home town of Bowie, Md. You know I'm keeping this one. It says 'Sweden' on it...

Cheap brown v-neck from Dots--maybe $5, bought last year. Looks nice, but smells like child labor... Seriously, how can clothes be so cheap?! I should stop buying cheap new clothes, because this blog exercise proves that I certainly don't need them, and I'm sure there's some creepy, hidden cost to someone somewhere. Anyway, many more to come...

January 13

When Will and I moved out to Minnesota, we drove here, with both of our dads. I ordered shirts with this design from Cafe Press as our "travel uniform." Theirs were off-white, but the closest girly shirt was this yellow.

January 12

I got this shirt at Herberger's department store in the young men's section. It was at the start of vet school, when I had anatomy lab and was still getting kind of depressed by the cadavers. This shirt is so weird! Bird skeletons getting married? The gothic "I do..." is written across the back of the shirt.

It's a nice dark heather gray and incredibly soft cotton. It's a size medium (men's). I am probably ready to let go of this one, so speak up if you want it.

January 11

I've been wearing this shirt all day--here I am about to go to bed in it. I got this t-shirt at Target just after we moved to Minnesota. I wore it during vet school orientation (I think because it vaguely reminds me of a scrub top with that color and neckline) so my student ID picture shows me wearing it.

The bottom hem flips up, which is really annoying. Otherwise, it's okay.

January 10

This is one of two identical cotton t-shirts I bought on a shopping trip to Kohl's in Somerville with my landlord's girlfriend (long story). These shirts are SO SOFT. They're getting rather faded, and this one has a hole--not sure why.

January 9

Er, funny story. So, yesterday Jess Shep and I went to Buffalo Exchange in uptown to sell some clothes. The store took one shirt off my hands (a silk Arden B shirt with "So Hollywood" written across the chest in big gold letters)... but then I saw this one. It set me back $6 worth of the store credit I got from my trade-in (cost me no money, really). I had been so proud of my plan to let go of some clothes, but I had no net loss or gain of shirts. Oops.

Here it is, brand spankin' new (to me, anyway)! I'm about to wear it out to a one-year-old's birthday party.

January 8

I can never decide if I like this shirt or not. I got it last year on sale at Macy's. I like the color and design, and the quality is good (soft cotton), but I don't think that the shape is very flattering, and I never feel like I look very good wearing it.

January 7

Rather self-explanatory, this one! I gave the same shirt to my dad too. It's too big and rather manly, but I like the design.

January 6

It's the first Digger's shirt of the year!! Woo hoo!!

So, "Digger's" is the nickname for the nearby Goodwill Outlet, a chaotic place where merchandise goes by on conveyor belts. Grab what you like, and pay by the pound. Cheap is an understatement! This shirt probably set me back a dime.

January 5

I got this shirt for my birthday three years ago from my dear friend Amanda. It was during the nail-biting period between the vet school applications and the vet school acceptances. I remember opening this gift, which came in the mail, immediately putting on the shirt, and then happily jumping up and down on a trampoline (burning nervous energy?).

It's a little snug and slightly sweat stained now (sorry--TMI?). Is it time to let it go? Hm.

Finally, to clarify: If I actually ran the zoo, I wouldn't let ALL the animals go...

January 4

This is a plain, cotton t-shirt from H&M. It's kind of baggy, but I like the neckline. Comfy...

January 3

Will got me this shirt at the Sundance Film Festival (2008). I asked for a festival shirt, but the design is pretty subtle... Anyway, this photo was taken in the mirror of a Red Roof Inn in Utica, NY, as we made the snowy trek from Boston back to Minnesota. As a bonus, you can see the back of my head and get a full view of the choppy haircut I gave myself on Christmas Eve. Swell, huh?

January 2

This is a Cuddle Duds cotton/nylon undershirt. It was slightly stained and snagged when I bought it, so it was less than $2 at Filene's Basement, maybe 5 years ago. I bought a bunch of these at that time, so you'll be seeing this again...

January 1

This is a thin, cotton shirt. It was super cheap ($4 on sale, new) but has held up pretty well. I think it's about 4 years old and I wear it a lot.
